Originally founded as an alternative to juvenile detention and rehab, the Port Townsend Aero Museum mentors sixteen teenagers from a variety of backgrounds in the lost art of WWI era stitch-wing airplane repair. In exchange for their work the students are taught to fly and given the opportunity to earn a private pilot’s license, setting them on the path towards a career in aviation.
